Independence Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is dedicated to enriching our school community. General meetings are held throughout the year and all families are invited to attend and get involved!

During this time of separation, it's really easy to feel isolated and alone. But, it's important for us to all remember that we are one Eagle Community. It's never been a better time to be an Eagle! 

This weekend our PTO will kick off their fifth annual Silent Auction!  The auction kicked off Friday, 10/09 at 8am and will run through October 18th at 10pm.  There are many wonderful items listed for auction, including dining gift certificates, local activities, and even an autographed Tampa Bay Buccaneers' football!  If you're interested in participating in this event visit the PTO's FB page for more information!  Please help us support the local businesses that help to support our students and teachers!

Planned PTO Events

  • September 16: Spirit Night at Abbott's 4-8 pm
  • September 30: host a drive thru Stuff a Mascot pick up
  • October 1 @ 6:30 (virtual event) Stuff a Mascot via Zoom or BBB
  • October 3 @2:30 (virtual event) Stuff a Mascot via Zoom or BBB
  • October 9-18: Silent Auction (virtual event)
  • October 30 from 5:30-7:30: Drive Thru Trunk or Treat; families sign up to host a spot, physically distanced, lining the car loop.  Participants can drive their decorated cars through the car loop for treats.  FREE event
  • November 2-15: Raise Craze, acts of kindness fundraiser; more information to come
  • Week of November 16: International Education Week/Virtual multicultural night
  • December 11: Holiday Drive In Movie
